U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service Extend Lesser Praire Chicken Listing Decision

The United States Fish and Wildlife Service sent a letter to Senator Tom Udall and a letter to Representative Steve Pierce indicating that the decision on whether the lesser prairie chicken will be listed as an endangered species is extended until March 30, 2014. Both letters acknowledged the support of both Senator Udall and Representative Pierce for the five-state conservation plan that is being advocated and implemented by the Western of Association of Fish and Wildlife Agencies to further less prairie chicken conservation.
